Bryan Drake

Bryan said in an email on 13 Jun 17:

I've always thought those 3 years were the most influential in my life and formed a behavioural pattern ever since. It even took me at least 20 years to break the habit of putting one hand in my pocket when working within a hundred yards from electricity.

A brief update of the last 60 years - after Locking Kinloss working on 3rd line repairs, 59 Malta watch supervisor in hole in ground, 61 short-toured to train as AEO and returned to Locking to work in the electrical maintenance section in one block for 18 months!. Then to Topcliffe training, Vulcan tour 50 Sqn Waddo, OCU instructor Finningley, 101 Sqn Waddo, Flight Checker (trapper) Waddo, Staff college, Air Sec dept to 81 then voluntary PVR took the money and joined Plessey. 89 taken over by Marconi (survived),  sales and marketing stuff until 95 then ran the facility in Abu Dhabi for 5 years (Marconi taken over BAE - enough -  retired early straight to Cyprus. Married (3rd time) wife Alona from Ukraine in 2005. Total two girls from first marriage and adopted daughter from current (just finishing Uni). Health surprisingly good despite a lifetime of bad habits, had a great time and all fond memories.”

Bryan has said that he may have a few photos of his days at RAF Locking: if he has we’ll display them here. In the meantime here are a few photos from elsewhere on this website in which he appears.
