We got off to a good start in The Osborn Room. Most people arrived early in the afternoon and we spent a few hours with tea, coffee and some wine (courtesy of John and Sylvia bench. Tony Mooney laid out some memorabilia which attracted some attention. Sadly, the expected cakes didn’t arrive before everyone broke up to book in, check out the grounds and get ready for the evening. The photo session went well and we trooped up the stairs for dinner. The room was very nice, the staff very helpful but the food was lacklustre.
Next day the breakfast was deliciously with both a hot and cold buffet and other hot items on request. Tony Mooney had words with Sabrina with whom he had planned the event about the various things which had not gone as agreed the result of which was that the charges for the dinner wine and the afternoon refreshments were waived. The general view was that whilst the venue had outstanding charm we would not use it again.
