Report by Tony Beard who organised the event
The latest 84th Entry Reunion, held on the weekend of 18/19th September 2021, was deliberately timed to coincide with celebrating the 65th anniversary of the two days in 1956 when we joined the RAF and committed to serving our initial 12 years service.
As on two previous occasions in 2009 and 2013, the venue was the Three Ways House Hotel in Mickleton, near Stratford on Avon in the beautiful Cotswold countryside. Even the weather smiled on us for the weekend as it was warm, generally dry and a fitting atmosphere for such an auspicious occasion.
A total of 10 members and eight accompanying wives and partners attended, which was a magnificent showing especially considering the pandemic and also, of course, our advancing years!!
Yet again, the Hotel rose to the occasion and provided accommodation at an extremely attractive discounted rate and also, more importantly, really excellent meals at the appropriate times. Having a dedicated, and private dining area, also helped the sense of occasion and added to the most enjoyable weekend.
Formalities were kept to the absolute minimum giving everyone the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy themselves and also engage in highly animated conversations with all attendees. I know I can speak on the behalf of all those attending that it was one of the best and further cemented the very close and long-lasting relationships we have had for these past 65 years. It is, of course, thanks to all those colleagues present at this and previous Reunions , that we continue to enjoy the very best of friendships and camaraderie that the members of this country’s armed forces enjoy.
My thanks to you all for making those two days such a momentous and memorable weekend.
Tony Beard

Not many photos were taken and those that were are not of good quality but you can see the best of them here.
Thanks
Sylvia Bench brought with her to the reunion a lovely box of chocolate to present to the staff in recognition of their close attention to our comfort and enjoyment.
